Really important issue to me as it applies to depression. I know I’ve heard something along the lines of “So many people have it so much worse” many, many times.

Measuring just 1/16” to 1/4” in length, duckweed floats on the water surface in colonies not attached to the bottom. Duckweed floats wherever the wind or currents take it, absorbing nutrients from the leaf undersurface and a very fine root hanging from it.

Despite being convicted of heresy and being suspended from his position of overseeing the botanic garden in Bologna, he was able to publish his Natural History- 14 folio volumes (some of which were published posthumously) comprised of thousands of pages of descriptions and illustrations of plants and animals. There’s debate as to who created the illustrations in his works, but scholars seem to agree that Aldrovandi employed several artists over the course of 30 years to create illustrations. The images- like the one above- are wonderful so we encourage you to search them out via search engines.
